Terms of Use

Clear Night Coach is desktop software sold by Clear Night Coach, a registered Australian business (ABN 52 188 199 497).

Your licence

The free version is free forever, for personal use, no account required. A Pro licence is personal: one key per person, covering the machines you yourself use.

Please don’t share, resell or publish your key. Subscription keys stay active while the subscription is active (with a grace window for time offline); a lifetime key is yours permanently. Keys that are leaked, resold or obtained fraudulently will be revoked.

Payments and billing

Payments and billing are handled by Stripe as merchant of record — they are the seller on your receipt, and their terms apply to the transaction.

If Clear Night Coach ever shuts down

A lifetime key doesn’t depend on me or my servers — it activates and verifies entirely offline, inside the app on your machine. If this project ever winds down, your installed app and every lifetime Pro feature keep working exactly as they do today, for as long as you keep the installer. The only thing that would stop is the live AI-written debrief, which runs through my server — the app automatically switches back to its built-in offline voice, and the decision engine itself never needed the internet in the first place.

No warranty

The software gives planning suggestions computed from catalogues, ephemerides and weather forecasts. It comes as-is, without warranty. Forecasts can be wrong and skies do what they want; you are responsible for your equipment and your decisions at the telescope. My liability is limited to what you paid for the software.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Nothing here limits rights you have under Australian Consumer Law. Questions: support@clearnightcoach.com.
